Frequently Asked Questions

Digital marketing comes with a lot of terminology. This page explains the terms I use and answers some practical questions about working with me.

Common Marketing Terms

Open a term for a short explanation.

Advertising and Content

TERM Google Ads

Paid advertisements that appear in Google search results. They allow a business to advertise to people who are searching for a related product or service.

TERM Meta Ads

Paid advertisements shown on Facebook and Instagram. Meta Ads can introduce your business to people based on factors such as location, interests and online activity.

TERM Ad Spend

The money you pay directly to Google or Meta for your advertisements. It is separate from my setup and management fees, and you decide how much you are prepared to spend.

TERM Campaign

A group of advertisements organised around a particular goal. That goal could be generating enquiries, booking calls, collecting registrations or making sales.

TERM Short-Form Video

A short video made for quick viewing online. My short-form edits are generally 60 to 120 seconds and can be used on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts or a website.

Tracking and Search Visibility

TERM SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Work that helps search engines understand your website and its pages. This may include keyword research, page titles, descriptions, headings, written content, internal links and site structure.

TERM GA4 (Google Analytics 4)

Google’s website analytics platform. It can show how visitors found your site, which pages they visited and whether they completed an action such as submitting a form or booking a call.

TERM Meta Pixel

A piece of tracking code placed on a website. It helps measure what visitors do after clicking an advertisement on Facebook or Instagram.

TERM Conversion Tracking

Tracking the actions that matter to your business. Depending on your goals, this might include calls, enquiries, bookings, registrations or purchases.

TERM CTA (Call to Action)

The action you ask someone to take next. Examples include booking a call, completing a form, downloading a guide or making a purchase.

Working Together

TERM Setup Fee

A one-time fee for the work required before an advertising campaign begins. This can include research, account configuration, campaign structure, tracking and launch preparation.

TERM Monthly Management Fee

The fee for monitoring, maintaining and adjusting an active advertising campaign. This fee does not include the money paid to Google or Meta for the ads themselves.

TERM Retainer

An arrangement for a set amount of recurring work each month. My services are month to month, so you are not required to sign a long-term contract.

TERM Revision Round

One organised set of changes requested after you review a video draft. Sending your feedback together helps keep the editing process clear and efficient.

Working With Lynn Canyon Digital

What to know before getting started.

FAQ Can I hire you only for video editing?

Yes. You can book one video, a set of three or a monthly six-video package. You do not need to purchase advertising or SEO services.

FAQ Can I hire you only for Google Ads or Meta Ads?

Yes. I can manage Google Ads, Meta Ads or both using content you already have. Video editing is available but not required.

FAQ How do we choose an advertising platform?

It depends on what you sell, how people normally find it and how much you want to spend. Google Ads can reach people actively searching for a service. Meta Ads can introduce an offer to people who may not be searching for it yet. Some businesses can benefit from using both.

FAQ Is advertising spend included in your prices?

No. You pay the advertising budget directly to Google or Meta. It is separate from my campaign setup and monthly management fees, and you approve the amount before the campaign begins.

FAQ Do I need to have existing footage?

You need existing footage if you hire me to repurpose or edit video. Interviews, webinars, coaching calls, podcasts and presentations can all work. You do not need footage if you only want help with SEO or paid advertising.

FAQ What if my footage is not great quality?

That may be fine. Useful ideas and clear speech matter more than studio lighting. I can improve pacing, structure, captions and audio where possible. If the recording has a technical problem that will seriously limit the result, I will tell you before starting.

FAQ How long does video editing take?

A first draft is usually ready within five to seven business days after I receive the footage and we agree on the direction. Revisions are generally returned within two business days. We may agree on a staggered schedule for larger batches.

FAQ How long does an advertising campaign take to launch?

Most campaigns can be prepared within five to ten business days after I receive the required access, content, website information and approvals. Tracking or website problems can add time, but I will identify those before launch.

FAQ How often will I receive campaign reports?

You will receive a monthly report explaining what happened, what I changed and what I recommend doing next. If I find an important problem during the month, I will not wait for the report to tell you.

FAQ Do I own my accounts and finished videos?

Yes. Your business should own its Google and Meta advertising accounts and the information collected in them. Final approved videos are delivered to you. Editable project files are not normally included unless we agree to that separately.

FAQ Can you guarantee leads, sales or search rankings?

No. Results depend on your offer, market, website, competition, budget, sales process and other factors. I will report honestly on the results and use the available information to make sensible adjustments.

FAQ How does pricing and commitment work?

Prices are listed in Canadian dollars on the Work With Me page. Video work can be booked as a single project or a monthly package. Advertising management is month to month. I recommend allowing about three months for a new campaign to collect useful information and make adjustments, but there is no long-term contract.

Campaign policy: Campaign management is month to month. I recommend allowing about three months for a new campaign to collect useful data and improve. Your advertising budget is separate from my fees and is paid directly to Google or Meta.
